THE CEDARS OF LEBANON FOLKLORIC GROUP
OBJECTIVES OF THE GROUP
1. To rally the Lebanese in foreign lands, around one Leans group to remind them of their Lebanese heritage.
2. The group will initially teach Lebanese Folkloric, and present it in its original form – namely the Lebanese Dabki, the Sword, and shield games, called the law, as well as theatrical sketches and the presentation of plays of all kinds. This being done to raise Lebanese awareness in foreign lands, and to show the Lebanese expatriates what is happening in our homeland, Lebanon, on the cultural level.
3. Later on the group will try to establish a club sports center of its own, to teach all varieties of sports to any Lebanese people who require it.
4. The purchase of a house in the group’s name, or the purchase of land to erect a modern Lebanese club in the group’s name.
5. To Carry out folkloric activities in all Australian States if the need arises.
6. To organize trips abroad, that is to say to foreign countries, and attend functions there, if possible.
7. Try to present a group show on Australian radio.
8. Endeavor to contract some Restaurant stage works to put on Lebanese Folkloric shows (Dabki and acting) every week.
9. Endeavor to organize meetings to show other nationalities what Lebanon is like. Show films about Lebanon at the Cinema, on television, as well as at schools, to publicize the name of Lebanon, our motherland everywhere, and make Lebanon known to other nationals.
10. Finally wherever the need and the opportunity arise, to send aid to the motherland Lebanon, and its inhabitants, who are our people, as circumstances dictate. This should take advantage of all means of the group’s disposal. as well as those available to the group’s sympathizers.
